My first attempt at nail art...for Halloween!

Good evening, my darling readers.  We had our trick or treat tonight.  Not as many treaters out tonight, thanks to the cold, wind, and rain so we had a bit of candy left.  It's also the first time in awhile that I didn't really dress up to pass out the goodies either.  Just didn't feel up to it.  I hope everyone else had a good evening.  I've been attending an online blog party being held by Addicted to OPI-yum on her blog and Twitter and have been having a blast!  She also announced the winners of her "Scariest Nail Polish Bottle in the USA" and I am the lucky first place winner!  What a surprise and honor!  This is the bottle that took first place.

Scary looking bottle, isn't it?  The blog owner was so nice she decided to send all the entrants a prize.  Wasn't that sweet?

Halloween Nail Art after the jump

A day or two ago, I decided to do some Halloween nails and started everything off with a coat of Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler, then painted every other finger nail orange and the other black.  I used Spoiled's Orange You Glad and Sally Hansen's Black Out.  The next day I decided they looked too plain so I french tipped them.  On the black nails, I used Spoiled Jewerly Heist and on the Orange You Glad, I used Spoiled Deeper Dive.  Then I added a fimo slice on my middle left nail and my right ring finger nail.  I also used a LA Color Art Deco nail stripper to write a letter B on my left index finger and ring finger, using the fimo piece as the other O to spell out the word "BOO" on my left hand.  I then added a ghost nail decal I'd won in one of the give aways to my middle right nail.  To complete the look, I added 1 coat Poshe topcoat to smooth things out.

The photo's show some tip wear and major shrinkage after I used the Poshe.  I didn't realize I had this much tip wear nor I had that much shrinkage until I saw the photo's so I apologize for the messiness.  I just wanted to give y'all a general idea of how my first nail art attempt turned out.  I hope I get much, much better over time.

Without futher ado, for your viewing pleasure:

Right hand

Left hand

I kept it simple and in the traditional orange and black Halloween color scheme.  On a 1 to 10 scale, I give myself a 2 as I am my own worst critic.

On your first nail art attempt, what did you rate yourself as?

Thank you for spending a few minutes with me this evening and have a good night!  Huggles!
